Bompton & Vancity duo LNDN DRGS have released their debut album AKTIVE which really delivers with the bars from Jay Worthy and smooth funk filled production from Sean House. The project can easily be heard front to back with some 40’s cracked open and the BBQ goin’, this is heat that’ll surely keep you warm during winter. This has to be one of the most unique projects to be released this year, sure previous rappers have done the “G-Funk” thing but this type of sampling and production really shows off the roots where all this came from. Local rapper Baby David has released his debut album Marvelous which has surely caught our attention after his feature on RAIEL’s Muse EP. David has a great flow through out the album which is over Boom-bap based beats mostly but the soulful samples give the album great depth.
