Interview – Real Boys

Although Abbotsford was once the murder capital of Canada, within its geographical confines rests a slew of up-and-coming musical talent. For example, over the past twelve months we’ve seen Oh No! Yoko rise from high school band class to the top of Winnie Cooper’s favorite albums of 2011. And I’m fairly certain that the Real Boys will be the next big thing to come out of the Fraser Valley.
Real Boys are a rock-pop supergroup that features members from You Say Party! We Say Die!, On No! Yoko, and GSTS! Their self-titled debut EP was released in March and it possesses the perfect sound for any summer house party involving copious amounts of Cariboo and hipster babes.
After just completing a tour of Western Canada, Real Boys will be showing their support for Breast Cancer on May 24 at FIVESIXTY. Come by for a chance to win an iPhone 4s. Tickets are $12.00 and you can purchase them here.

Skittles; Sugar>Chocolate
If your music was a type of car, what would it be?
A Lotus. Sleek, efficient and practical.
What’s the craziest house party you’ve ever been to?
I was once in an warehouse of lofts in Oakland that had multiple shows and parties going on at the same time that you could mingle from loft to loft. The bands were staggered so you wouldn’t miss a single band in different lofts. Being in the US, the beer was cheap. Best part was watching NZ’s DIE DIE DIE destroy a solid set.
What do you miss most about the 90’s?
HYPERCOLOR T-Shirts
If your band were the cast of Saved By the Bell who would be the following:
Zack Morris – Everett
AC Slater – Drew
Screech - Liam
Mr. Belding – Stephen

When it comes to dudes and jeans, how tight it too tight?
Doesn’t matter, they just have to be black.
If I wanted to seduce a guy with a Real Boys song, which one should I choose?
Marly
You just got back from a trip through the prairies. What was that experience like?
Our tour to Winnipeg and back was awesome. The response from the crowds were extremely positive. We didn’t have to collect can to pay for gas. But mostly i would measure it’s success by how few cat hair covered hardwood floors we slept on: 1.
What can we expect from your show on the 24 at FIVESIXTY?
We promise to deliver a 20 minute set of high energy and catchy tunes.
Rest In Peace Devon Clifford

You will be missed.
