Doug Hoyer is a singer-songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta. He is most known for a softer acoustic sound but his latest 2 song EP is backed by Gobble Gobble’s Calvin McElroy. Also make sure to check out his side project Bike Month which features 30 songs.
The Joe is an upcoming rapper also from Edmonton. Joe has founded Old Ugly Recording Company which now has 18 artists on its roster, including Doug Hoyer. What makes The Joe different from most rappers is his rhymes are backed with electro sounds and ultimately have a different feel and the production is really good too. Check out this Gobble Gobble remix of the track Wayward.

Gardens & Villa are a 5 piece band from Santa Barbara, California. They are relatively new but are about to tour with Craft Spells & Foster The People. Sadly there doesn’t seem to be a Vancouver date but I’m crossing my fingers. Their self titled debut LP will be released July 5th via Secretly Canadian.
