Kid Ink
Upon first glance, you might mistake newcomer Kid Ink for Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa aka the dude lucky enough to bang Amber Rose.
After all, they’re both pot smoking pinners with enough tattoo’s to generate an illustrated adult novel. Even their music bares striking similarities to one another. They leave the gun violence and ghetto tales behind for a sound that is surprisingly PG. Okay, maybe more like 14A.
But with that said, Kid Ink hails from Los Angeles and exudes that authentic West Coast flare which unfortunately has become more of a commodity than a true lifestyle in recent years. And while I’ll admit Ink’s music isn’t overly sentimental, his snappy one liners and feel good beats more than make up for that.
With several mixtape’s already completed, 2012 stands to be a huge year for Kid Ink. He was just recently included on XXL’s annual Freshman Class List and his track “Time of Your Life” made the top 20 on iTune’s hip-hop chart. So I suggest checking out this chron lovin’ youngster before he becomes too mainstream to truly appreciate.

Wiz Khalifa drops into Vancouver October 14 to do TWO SHOWS on the same day along with special guest Yelawolf. Yeah these dudes grind hard.
The late show has been sold out for a while but tickets are still available for the early show.
