Times Neue Roman – Sade Is In My Tape Deck
You don’t have to be a fan of the 80’s songstress Sade to enjoy this smooth new track from Toronto’s Times Neue Roman. It’s jazzy undertones and psychedelic rhyming will make you crave some B.C. bud. And coincidentally enough, this jam was recorded at a cabin deep within our province’s outback.
So take a minute and let your mind move in slow motion.

the interview show: Summer Tour Special
Hello folks!
Ever had a band stay with you? Every been in a band and had trouble finding a place to stay after the show?
Last summer, I did a freelance piece for CBC Radio 3 on this topic. It aired today on Lanarama on CBC Radio 3.
They usually put up these projects on their blog, so I can link to it, but they didn’t this time. Sadz. I will put up my rough edit so you can hear the funny stories from Carpenter, Ember Swift and Styrofoam Ones.
I also talked to some other cool bands about the same thing for the interview show in a sort of x-over! the interview show Summer Tour Special has great tales from Fallan Soldier, Times Neue Roman, Humans and White Cowbell Oklahoma. Enjoy!

Remember this girl from 2006?
Uffie‘s back. It’s time for the re-attack of the damn crazy brat!
Back in 2006, Uffie was one of the most controversial figures in indie music. She couldn’t quite sing, she couldn’t quite rap, yet Uffie was being played in all the hottest clubs. She was backed by Ed Banger and hung out with some of the most cutting edge guys in the French electro scene: Justice, Mr. Oizo, SebastiAn and Feadz, to name a few.
Well now it’s 2010, so time to catch up! Uffie called me from a Fireman’s bar in New York and she told me the question she hated being asked the most “Where the fuck have you been?!?” Plus, Which Ed Banger genius never leaves his house? and Ke$ha… You have to hear it!

Uffie – “Hot Chick” (dj feadz edit) Feadz is the most underappreciated of the Ed Banger DJs.

Times Neue Roman ALERT!
The TNR guys are in our fair city right now, working on their next record. They will also be doing a show at the Cobalt this Friday as part of the magical Olio Festival. A great chance to catch one of Canada’s undiscovered hip hop upstarts.
Early on, TNR got the tag “Nintendo rap,” but **please** do not use that term. These guys don’t like it. They even came up with their own name for what they do, “deco rap.”
Any way,these guys can rawk a party. See you there!
