World Club is playing No More Strangers on Saturday.  They make layered experimental music with bizzaro instruments that don’t have names.  Its like one of those electric blanket snugglie things that you plug in to keep your toes warm.  Discordant at times and beautiful and harmonic at others.

They have two nuuu songs for us.

Also playing are Peace, Charger Clime and guest djj Mila plus some proper nice and cheap liquor because we like you better that way.

Herethee, this Saturday we are moving the No More Strangers weekly to the Balmoral for a reopening party.

It’s been closed for a year and had some minor renos done.

Aaaaaand we have a special guest coming from Toronto, Little Girls.

They are on the very awesome Paper Bag Records (You Say Party We Say Die!, Sally Shapiro, Montag, Woodhands, Tokyo Police Club, The Deadly Snakes, Stars etc) and have been featured on the mighty Pitchfork and Gorilla vs Bear and touring with YSPWSD!, Japandroids, Surfer Blood (the best band in the world) and Waaves.

They have just released their stellar new fuzzy surf pop gem of an album, Concepts.

+$1.75 beers + local surf pop heroes Walter Tv and Cat Attack will be supporting.  Doors at 9 show 10:00-1:30am. $8@thedoor

Our Halloween photos are up.  Well, they’ve been up for a while we just havn’t posted them here.  Anyways the amazing photographer Jason Trill is coming back out from Victoria for No More Strangers Nov 14th (and Kap Bambino the next day).  See all the Halloween photos here.

You know what it’s like when you sweat blood, cry tears, shit yourself, shit tears of cry-blood and work really hard to make something fun and awesome? Well, here’s the story of No More Strangers, a little Tomas the Tank Engine party that WinnieCooper.net started at a local bar. After having our slow clap moment, in the form of an awesome, packed to the walls local bands extravaganza on our night….we got bitchslapped. Bar owner greed, stupidity, poor advising, perhaps Satan, all collided and the No More Strangers crew were informed by the host bar that things were going to change. The owner’s completely unreasonable demands left the NMS promoters no choice but to end the night abruptly, pack their little musician suitcases and head out in search of a new home.

We want to thank everyone for their support in the past few days, it has been really inspiring.

THE PARTY DID CONTINUE this past Saturday at a new Venue we are sussing out, Smileys! at 911 W Pender where we brought the same DIY party, rad bands, silly tunes and cheap drinks minus that terrible slum lord urine smell.

We have some amazing video from Basketball’s live set from our Basketball, Gang Violence, Babe Rainbow and Boogie Monster show two weeks ago. Turn it up real loud and its almost like your there. The show was a highlight of my life.  The most credible Indie Vancouver music site, From Blown Speakers said some really rad stuff about the show. If you missed it, Basketball play with No Gold and Human (who are also playing our Halloween party) tomorrow (tue Oct 27th) at Fortune. GO AND SEE THEM. they will blow yr mind.  Get there early its going to be packed.

If you haven’t seen Basketball yet, you have a couple more chances, Oct 27th and Dec 2nd with the Japandroids (bad ass) before they once again deprive us and head back to Europe / Barcelona. Next level Gypsy rave isht that will blow your mind. Seriously (no jokes)
