Our pal, Minna forwarded this. Danish group, Laid Back are best known for their seminal early 80′s dance track and coke jam, “White Horse”. This is one of their lesser known gems from 1990. Im a huge Weezer nerd, it’s a soft spot I have. Did you know that the band went on hiatus after the commercial failure of Pinkerton in 1997?

Rivers went to school at Harvard but soon dropped out. During this time Cuomo started a side project called Homie which consited of Greg Brown member of Cake, Matt Sharp (formerly of Weezer, lead singer of The Rentals), Adam Orth of Shufflepuck and Yuval Gabay of Soul Coughing.

The group recorded an album worth of material, only finishing all of the drum tracks. The sole song to be released from the session is this song here which made it onto the, “Meet The Deedles” soundtrack.

Santogold and Amanda Blank have done a killer cover version of this L.L. track as part of Santo’s Diplo remix album, “Top Ranking”. Remember Diplo/MIA’s “Piracy Funds Terrorism”? This is part two, and just as great. The cover made me remember my glory days where I’d pop this jam in my tape player.

2 Unlimited didn’t name themselves that by accident, they really were all about pushing the limits. Their debut album and break out hit was called, “Get Ready!” but really, could anyone? They must of been on some quality Dutch (Hi Margot!) designer drugs. No no, no no no no, no no no no, there’s no limit. There really is no limits, reach for the stars kids.
