Sludge King

Sludge King

I recently got a new ipod and I like to fill it with mixtapes instead of just single tracks.

This mixtape by the mysterious and elusive Sludge King has been on HIGH ROTATION. It’s serious pure metal fury, not for the faint of heart. You need this in your mixtape collection…

Listen or die!!!

Sludge King – Sludge King Radio Vol 1: Odin Steel (mediafire)

1. Danzing – Am I Demon
2. Baroness – Isaak
3. The Sword – Take It To The Black
4. High On Fire – 10 000 Years
5. Black Label Society – Demise Of Sanity
6. 3 Inches Of Blood – Trial Of Champions
7. Bison BC – Primal Emptyness Of Outer Space
8. Amon Amarth – Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags
9. Meshuggah – Combustion
10. Carcass – Tools Of The Trade

The Very Best

Pretty much the most exciting thing in music right now (this is fact and undisputed) is the Malawian born Esau Mwamwaya, and his project with Radioclit, which I have learnt now has been named, The Very Best.

If you havn’t heard about Esau yet then you best read up on our WC archives, he’s pretty much the African Phil Collins and is more uplifting than suspenders.

In anticipation of The Very Best’s album which I have been hearing is set for an early 2009 release, the pair have taken the Diplo/MIA/Santogold route and compiled a for-free net only mix-tape.

Get your mits on it here.

Winnie Mixtapes

I caught you a delicious bass. We have some mixes for you.

First up Chicago’s The Cool Kids, with a mixtape named perhaps to answer the, “is hip hop dead” question. The first track is the second track on the mixtape, which is straight up fire. They have a new single, “The Delivery Man” out now.

The Cool Kids – Box Of Rocks

The Cool Kids – That’s Stupid The Mixtape (23min)

This one is for lovers of deep hypnotic crunchy techno beats.  Montreal’s The Mole is playing Fabric in London next Saturday, September 6th.

The Mole – Live At Fabric (33min)

Tittsworth has recently released his first full length album, which has been three years in the making.  Pitchfork has panned the album citing “too little, too late”.  They argue that the Baltimore Club genre isn’t the freshest thing right now, which i’d agree with on a dj / music nerd, blog level.

I’d argue that the dance floor doesn’t lie.

Full tracklisting at Discobelle

Tittsworth - The McCain Mix – 2008 (56min)
