Daughter – Wild Youth EP

Try typing Daughter into your Google search engine and you’ll be sure to find results varying from “female offspring” to “a shapeshifting humanoid ”. However, upon a closer look you might just discover a true musical gem.
As i’m writing this, a dub step version of Daughter’s “Youth” sits atop of Hype Machine’s most popular songs on blogs. And while this track is sure to soothe your soul, its nothing compared to the real thing.
Daughter aka Elena Tonra is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter from the U.K, who has the lyrical maturity of someone twice her age. She released her second EP “Wild Youth” in November of last year and it holds enough romantic angst to re-sink the Titanic.

While listening to the EP in its entirety, I couldn’t help but wonder if she was ghost writing my life and/or the life of most teenage girls growing up in the new millennium. You’ll begin the record on “Home”, where you’ll meet a sexually deprived young adult and end on “Love”, with an emotionally bruised young woman who makes desperation seem utterly desirable. It’s oddly tortured but still wildly approachable.
I could make comparisons to Florence and the Machine but it won’t do her music justice. You need to hear it in order to fully experience what I’m talking about. Get ready to blow a musical load.

Happy Heart Day

Happy Heart Day everyone.
Here are some tracks to show the love. And all of these guys will be on the interview show real soon.
Arowbe & Rich Kidd “Coolest Girl” Arowbe (Times Neue Roman) and Rich Kidd have collaborated on a special track for Valentine’s Day. “Coolest Girl” reminisces on an unrequited crush for the coolest girl in school.
Eamon McGrath “Wrecking Ball” This kid is just plain cool.
Boats “TV Scientist” A cool band not many people know enough about.
Change is never easy. You fight to hold on. You fight to let go.

.For Serious.
The add media button intrigues me.
side note: Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 blows my mind.
