Winnie Reviews: Kitty Pryde @ Fortune Sound
Kitty Pryde is one hot mess of an act.
She’s “been a bitch since 97″, and hails from Daytona Beach… but I wouldn’t count on that being legitimate information, her branding is frustratingly inconsistent. “But that’s the point, doy” — yes, thanks for making it easier for us.
The show was good, and it helps that she is damn cute. Missing tones, screwing up, and acting unprofessional on stage are all part of the act; it was quite charming. Kitty is definitely doing her best to hit a specific micro-demographic and hoping it will spread… and hey, Nardwuar seems to have taken a liking to her.
It’s simple, Kitty Pryde is one of those artists you’ll love or hate. Which one are you?

Florida-born bedroom rapper Kitty, formerly known as Kitty Pryde, is about to make 2013 her bitch. Hot off the heels of her second mixtape, “The Daisy Rage EP”, Kitty will embark on her first solo tour next month. She’s gunna make all the bb’s swoon with her candid lyrics about love, jealous haters, and that persistent bed wetting problem.
On March 23, she’ll be stopping by Vancouver’s Fortune Sound Club for an early show with music from local acts Young Braised, LADYFRND, and DJ Wobangs (TLC). Advanced tickets are $10.00 and you can purchase them online or at Highlife, Zulu, DIPT, Red Cat, and Beatstreet records.

Ay Shawty – Kitty (aka Kitty Pryde) Feat. Lakutis
After blowing up -and blowing Danny Brown- last year, my white girl counter part is back, except now she just goes by Kitty. Rawr.
Her new single “Ay Shawty” showcases Kitty’s dream-like rhymes about love and the opposite sex, a trait that garners her as much admiration as hate.
Watch out for her “D.A.I.S.Y. Age” EP, which is expected to drop on January 31.

Kitty Pryde and Riff Raff – Orion’s Belt (Video)
Although this isn’t my favourite track off Pryde’s Haha I’m Sorry EP, (that honour goes to Give Me Scabies), Orion’s Belt definatly has the sickest white girl rhyming. And Riff Raff is always fun to look at.

I like to think of Kitty Pryde as my white girl counterpart, especially after her recent rendezvous with Danny Brown. Although word is still out on her career’s longevity, she’s doing wonders for the international ginger movement. Moreover, the girl’s got some pretty dope oneliners about Frank Ocean and the side effects of detoxing from Adderall.
