Winnie Discovers The Elwins
Prancing around in Toronto for Indie Week… Winnie stumbled upon something cute of a musical foursome. Hailing from Newmarket Ontario, The Elwins are Matthew Sweeney (lead singer/guitar), Travis Stokl (traps & snares), Feurd (guitar/keys) and Christopher Shannon (bass). They released their first EP back in 2008 through Chemical Sound Studios, and according to Wikipedia have a full length due to release this year…? Cloud Nothings
Cleveland Ohio is the 33rd largest city in the United States; whatever. You’ll find The Playhouse Square Centre, corned beef, and (among many other wicked groups) the Cloud Nothings. Played by by 19-year-old Dylan Baldi, the group portrays an adolescent sound with addictive harmonies, and a comfortable feel. This is high quality indie pop (with a splash of surf punk) to say the least. Enjoy their free track, Understand At All, released on Carparck Records.
