Here’s an overdose of some tunes we’ve been listening to. Let me know what ya’ll think in the comment section. DO IT.
Locals No Gold just released a new single that the Fader permiered… .
No Gold – Good & Bad
Priory is a band we’ve been enjoying for a while now… weather or not they have two one hit wonders is still up for debate. Check out their self titled EP here.
Priory – Lady of Late
Evan Voytas grew up on Elvis and The Righteous Brothers and discovered Jazz in his late teens. He’s a Los Angeles-based singer/multi-instrumentalist born in rural Pennsylvania.
Evan Voytas – I Took A Trip on A Plane
Gauntlet Hair are an interesting group. They released a few tracks maybe half a year ago and have been getting mixed reviews since.
Gauntlet Hair – Top Bunk
This guy has a pretty cute musical demeanour. Poor Spirits continues to remain an endearing mystery we know little about.
Poor Spirits – Benefits
These boys are great. Native Torontonians Ruby Coast released this track a while ago and didn’t do much with it.
Ruby Coast – Whatever This Is
So much love… enough said.
The Rural Alberta Advantage – Under The Knife
Suckers are doing a large-scale North American tour with label buddies Local Natives soon… check SongKick for dates.
Suckers – Black Sheep
City of Glass are comprised of the two most scholarly gentlemen I’ve come across; Michael and David. Their track, Tourist, from The “Diving Bell EP” is a bit of an older tune…
City of Glass – Tourist

PAPA – I Am The Lion King
A taste of genius. PAPA arrived in my inbox this morning along with their recent single, “I Am The Lion King“, and I was a little more than blown away. Hailing from Los Angeles, these kids seems to be stirring up quite a buzz. The group is made up of Darren Weiss, Evan Weiss, and Danny Present. Enjoy the single from their EP: “A Good Woman Is Hard To Find“… it’s your new favourite song.

New Apollo Ghosts Video – YVR
I think it was Alex Hudson from one of my fave Vancouver blogs, Chipped Hip that said “Apollo Ghosts are one of Vancouver’s most under hyped bands”. I agree.

Slothbear From New York

These are a few kids you might want to keep up with. Slothbear are a four-peice PRISM POP (indie rock) band from Long Island, NY. Winnie’s been chatting with them re: their awesomeness… and hopefully she’ll bring em’ over from NY for a live treat. Enjoy their track “Ex-Teens” from their recent album Canter On available on Bandcamp here.

This Track is Hott

“Enter Through The Sun” is the new single from Toronto Ontario’s Young Empires under Pirates Blend Records. They love ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ x ▲▲▲. Also, Trissy boi can’t stop talking about em’… which means they’ll probably be the next big thing in a mo’ or five. Get down to it, get down hard.

Unconsolable

This is exactly the kind of thing we need before a Saturday night. Ambassadors‘ single, Unconsolable, is definitely one for your “pump-up” playlist. The track comes in with lead singer Sam Harris’s power hungry voice, drum sticks, and some hungry bass… keep listening and you’ll definitely be hooked. Although it’s hard to find any information about these guys, they’re from Brooklyn NY and I’m pretty sure they went on tour with our girl Lights not too long ago. Anyways… enjoy this track; it’s yours now.

The Truth Hurts But You Would Still Like To Hear It

Is the name of Mouthful of Snow’s debut album; the brainchild of California resident Kyle Napalan. These guys have been around since 2006, but only just breaching the surface with this recent release. Enjoy their single, The Scandal, from their album “The Truth Hurts But You Would Still Like To Hear It”
Sounds like: NOFX, Tokyo Police Club, Phoenix.

Heaven’s On Fire

Hailing from Lund, Sweden, The Radio Dept. have been around for over fifteen years releasing albums over the last decade; why haven’t I heard of them until now? Because I’m stupid, really really stupid. Released by Labrador Records, their recent album, Clinging to a Scheme, seems to have been somewhat dormant since 2010. Whatever, that doesn’t mean you can’t rock out to this song with some sweet make-outs. I flippin’ love make-outs. Winnie does too. Enjoy.
