Happy Monday

We’ve been so busy here at Winnie world headquarters that we have fallen waaaaaay behind with our emails. We get so much great stuff sent to us and we really do our best to get through it all.
Alan Wilkis dropped this off for us last week and I just got a chance to check it out. I like it! It’s happy… just like this smiling Shiba Inu puppy.

Up
I was gonna write something in this space here, but instead I decided to write about how I was going to write something so that I could give you something to read because I know that you’re probably just passing the time looking for music.
It’s Monday. Ick. Here’s a song for you today:
Chromatics – In the City (After Dark Version)
This Is…

It’s not hard to figure out why Yeasayer’s upcoming album release is one of the most anticipated of 2010.
Wow meow the shit is sooooo good. Here listen:
Okay it’s Friday, go play! Hugs!

Feeling dull? Oh, I am.
Maybe I need one of these.
This helps too… here’s something cheery to listen to! Screw you S.A.D.s.
The Tough Alliance – A New Chance (Tanlines Remix)
Hi Friday.

Holy geeeeeez was this the longest week ever or what?
Here’s what happened to me: I sliced my lip with a salt and vinegar chip, someone actually seriously said to me “you look shitty”, I got a cold, my bike got locked in a room with no key, and I think I’m addicted to Nyquil.
Bah who cares it’s behind us now. Friday’s here and our weekend begins… here’s your song to get it going, and is it ever a good one!
New Young Pony Club – Lost A Girl
Oh NYPC how I’ve missed you. *swigs Nyquil*

Christian’s Top Song of 2009

Hunk and I have been trying to pull together a Best Of 2009 list since November (no joke). But in between working hard and getting into trouble, it somehow got lost in the pile that we’re still knee deep in.
I’m sure you’ve already done your blog scouring and found lists-a-plenty to cap off the year. ‘Top Whatever Lists’ are supposed to be debatable and polarizing and that’s why they get sooooo much attention. Looking at all the year end lists from all our super duper blog pals, I think it’s safe to say that 2009 was an amaaaaaaaaazing year for music.
Animal Collective, The xx, Miike Snow, Passion Pit, Neon Indian, Washed Out, Florence And The Machine, Classixx… holy crap I could keep going and going too… Surfer Blood, Dirty Projectors, Girls, ok ok I’ll stop.
Instead of boring you with a list I wasn’t able to put together anyway, I’ll tell you my pick for the best song of 2009. Annnnnnd it is:
Too obvious? Maybe. Not obvious enough? Also maybe. It doesn’t matter and I don’t even want to articulate why I love this song. It just feels right and that’s what good music is supposed to do.
I was gonna wax poetic about the state of rap music and the direction electro music has taken, but I’ll save that for another time when I feel inspired (ie drunk) enough.
Hope you had a great 2009 (like Phoenix did).
