Guru of Gang Starr is in a coma after going into cardiac arrest. It was confirmed by DJ Premier on Siruis radio and he will undergo surgery tomorrow.

Rakim is easily one of my fave MC’s ever.
For his return to hip hop in 1997, Rakim released The 18th Letter, his first solo album. It wasn’t groundbreaking, but it was good overall with some tightly produced tracks by some of the best (Clark Kent, Premier).
‘Guess Who’s Back’ is definitely one of the best tracks off the LP.

This new Curren$y track, Newer Pollution, is tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!! Not only does it sample Beck’s The New Pollution but it’s got a classic Dazed and Confused quote mixed in there as well.
