Vancouver rocker and WinnieCooper pal Jake Touzel has decided to give away his latest EP Bad Faith for free on his bandcamp page. Jake makes the kind of toe-stomping rock and roll that would drive the locals wild in Thunder Bay.
I asked Jake why he decided to give away his record. He said, “Giving away “BAD FAITH” means making it accessible to everybody. I want to show that this EP is a big part of me, but it’s not the only part, and that you must clear a path to make way for new things.” Sounds like more is to come from Jake Touzel very soon.
Play the Jake Touzel track “Reservations” and then head to his bandcamp www.jaketouzel.bandcamp.com to download the entire EP–for FREE.

A menacing scream sets the scene as one continuous piano note loops you into the world that is RYAN Playground’s bird’s-eyes on the lead single of her upcoming debut EP. If you’ve never heard of the artist behind the track, she’s a Montreal producer-singer, as well as an international model and it’s about time you started taking notes.
Using common electronic techniques RYAN Playground creates an atmospheric tone layering her vocals in a way that keeps the momentum of the song constantly propelled forward. Her construction of spoken word samples creates a human nature to the song that ends with a high hat that will only make you want to move. Ending the song asking “Are you still experiencing deep sleep paralysis?…Only thing I wish to hear is you battle cry.” All you need to know is there’s a free download. Cop it below.
Chopping and screwing something isn’t really that original anymore, but it can still be done with serious aplomb, and Blackedout’s new track “Champagne” samples from one of the silkiest tunes out there: “It’s A Shame” by the Spinners and turns it into a come-down anthem that is difficult to turn off. Luckily it’s offered as a free download so you can grab it from Soundcloud and take it with you.

Three Vancouver beatmakers; Ekali, The Oneiroscopist (Mountainous Collective) & VZNS collided and created a post-sad future RnBass track entitled “Minutes.” You can expect lustful energy, syncopated rhythms and luscious synths.
