TIGER & WOODS (LIVE) at CIRQUE

Tiger & Woods, consisting of Larry Tiger and David Woods, are a secretive musical duo that often hides behind a fierce looking leopard logo. They’ve recently garnered much attention for their funk infused disco, which has probably gotten them more ass than the real Tiger Woods circa 2010.
Their latest release “Through the Green” got them an 8.2 on Pitchfork media, with the track “Gin Nation” even making it on the sites top 100 tracks of 2011 list, coming in at a solid 83. For the past few months, Tiger & Woods have been touring the world, selling out clubs in New York, London, and Miami.
While the lack of information regarding their personal histories is frustrating, especially if you fantasies involving a hotel room and bubble baths, the epicness of this dream team cannot be denied. The only scary part is that these dudes are just getting started.

So if you want to experience the magic that is Tiger & Woods, come by FIVESIXTY (560 Seymour Street) on May 25. Tickets are only $15.00 in advance and are available online and at the following locations: Red Cat, Puff, Zulu, Highlife and Beatstreet.
Also taking the stage is Winnie Cooper co-founder @Tristanorchard, as well as Luke Mckeehan, Joel Armstrong, DJ Woodhead, SKLA and Right Hand Barber. Doors at 10 pm. More information on the event page.

Hot Chip – Flutes

I encourage you all to start your week off right with a sexy new single from Hot Chip. My favourite memory of Hot Chip was watching them at Coachella 2010, an older couple standing near me clearly wasn’t diggin’, and said they were just “electronic disco,” which made me wonder what acoustic disco sounds like…
Their new track Flutes is an infectious booty shaker, and it’s going to be on their new album “In Our Heads” which comes out in June on Domino Records.
Hot Chip is hitting The Commodore on September 15th which feels like 5 billion years from now but you can get tickets now and they’re going fast.

Holy Ghost – Tiger & Woods Remix

One of my favorite secret hidden gem dance albums this year is Tiger & Woods’, “Through The Green”. They sound like early 80′s disco but cut up and sampled in a more modern loopy French house style.
They have teamed up with NYC disco act Holy Ghost on their latest single. If you havn’t check out Holy Ghost’s self titled debut lp they released this year, it is a highly under hyped pearl.
Holy Ghost play Fortune in Vancouver November 8th. Winnie says it’ll be hype***

Hot New Isht Alerts :: Canyons
Canyons are from Australia. They make the chillest most grooviest house music you have ever heard. It’s so chill, I am drinking a milkshake right now with no pants on. They will give you a 4 x 4 bean erection. Promsies.
Their debut album “Keep Your Dreams” is due out Nov 15th in N.A via Modular. They are going to blow up hard and house music once again will save the world.
This is an older 2008 track that I pretty much play every night I dj. Everything I have ever heard by them is in the 9/10 range. Omg. ok that’s it i’m done.
Canyons – Apples & Pears
And three new tracks from the upcoming ep that I want to get my palms on so badly they are growing hair.
