the interview show: Spaceship For Sale!

This week, we go from crazy to insane! Not only do I have industry expert Justin on the show to talk about his new blog, Spaceship For Sale, but I decide to test his knowledge of the industry by getting three local bands to ask him questions!

So this week, we’ve also got Tristan from DBL Dragon, Rob from Eeek! and Kyle from Vinyl Theory.

Enjoy the chaos. :)

the interview show with Spaceship For Sale

Mother Mother “The Stand” Justin’s favorite song right now. For me, it’s great to see this Quadra Island group put out a really awesome track.

DBL Dragon “Holiday” Tristan tells me this song is about “getting it on,” which he tells me is “the best!” I agree.

Eeek! “Lake Soux” This unreleased gem is about Rob spending a great day with his loved ones.

Vinyl Theory “Ghana” White Rock’s favorite prog rockers are looking for a singer. Here is one of their songs… all it needs is a great voice!

gblgbl

So were pretty stoked about this event because it’s No More Strangers 1irst party at The Astoria ever!  Considering the lineup and NMS reputation this Saturday shouldn’t be anything short of amazing.

Not that they need an intro but GOBBLE GOBBLE who are from san fran are pretty much like listening to a really loud awesome house party.
Oh and check out their tumblr.

Gobble Gobble – Lawn Knives

Slam Dunk are our neighbors from Victoria. You can dowload their new album The Shivers here! But not for too much longer.

Finally, there’s Dbl Dragon. Vancouver’s very own extremely attractive quintet. This band has just begun to create some buzz but believe you me they will be around for a long time because let’s face it, you just want to dance.

Heebeegeebees pt 4

Kaput and Crums are Vancouver based graffiti inspired artists.

In the two years of touring since releasing their debut album, Insomnia, The Racoons have received accolades from multiple music magazines and radio stations, including “Best New Artist” by CBC Radio 3. Their songs are lavish with catchy hooks and have been played for the crowds of Rifflandia, Sled Island, and Big Time Out festivals, as well as used for episodes of MTV’s The Hills and 16 and Pregnant.

Dbl Dragon want to save the world through partying. Two drummers pulsate this five-piece dance act, resulting in a rich, layered sound. This summer they played for Olio and Fringe Festival, and have since been busy circulating Vancouver stages.

All of these artists will be at part 4 of the Heebeegeebees music and art series at Chapel Arts, Thursday 8pm-11pm.

Buy tickets now for the Finale Halloween party Saturday October 30th with live music from local favorites Love and Electrik (who have shared the stage with Chromeo, La Roux and the Very Best) as well as the Winnie Cooper djs and exciting new Vancouver pop act Peter Breeze…
