Ay Shawty – Kitty (aka Kitty Pryde) Feat. Lakutis
After blowing up -and blowing Danny Brown- last year, my white girl counter part is back, except now she just goes by Kitty. Rawr.
Her new single “Ay Shawty” showcases Kitty’s dream-like rhymes about love and the opposite sex, a trait that garners her as much admiration as hate.
Watch out for her “D.A.I.S.Y. Age” EP, which is expected to drop on January 31.

From the Fool’s Gold comp that’s coming out next week, come’s a remix of one of the jams of the year. Jim Jones, Flatbush Zombies, and El-P jump on the track with Juicy J and the whole thing is re-cut by Flosstradamus. Do I wish that Danny Brown had been kept on the track? Obviously. But El-P brings it in his place, and I might even prefer this mix. Check it out below.

Danny Brown & Araabmuzik – Molly Ringwald
This is what happens when you put two magical bb’s together.
Meeting on a Friday in May, DB and Araabmuzik got together to write and record “Molly Ringwald” — from scratch. The song will be released next month by Yours Truly as a AA-side single on 7″ vinyl via its Love Letters Ink imprint, with Joey Bada$$’s “Daily Routine” on the flip side. “Molly Ringwald” will also be available for download starting July 17.
In the meantime, watch Danny Brown and Araabmuzik weave together “Molly Ringwald”. You can also win a copy of the vinyl via the yours truly Facebook page. I like to think of Kitty Pryde as my white girl counterpart, especially after her recent rendezvous with Danny Brown. Although word is still out on her career’s longevity, she’s doing wonders for the international ginger movement. Moreover, the girl’s got some pretty dope oneliners about Frank Ocean and the side effects of detoxing from Adderall.

Danny Brown
By now you should already know about Danny Brown and his unique style of sex appeal so I’ll keep this to a minimum.
In terms of maturity, Brown is a relative latecomer to the hip-hop game. At thirty years of age, this Detroit native is just beginning to receive adequate attention for his provocative lyricism, infectious laugh, and refreshing honesty. (I should also note that his ability to pair together fitted jeans with eclectic vintage garments is beyond impressive.)
Brown’s most recent EP’s XXX and Black and Brown! landed him a spot on XXL magazine’s coveted Freshman Special of 2012 and he’s currently touring North America with Childish Gambino. (Unfortunately no Vancouver dates are scheduled as of yet.)
After a deal with G-Unit Records fell through in 2010, Brown signed with Fool’s Gold and is slated to release his as-yet-untitled solo debut album sometime this year. And with besties like A$AP Rocky and ScHoolboy Q, it’s hard to deny Brown’s future success within the next generation of hip-hop artists.
