I woke up Autograf‘s Mikul and Louis from a nap when I met then at the hotel. In fact they asked for another quick 15 minutes of sleep before we chatted.
Chicago indie dance band Autograf is three guys: Mikul Wing, Louis Kha and Jake Carpenter. Autograf started as an art collective modeled after Andy Warhol‘s legendary New York Factory scene. While working on art installations, Autograf made a few bootleg remixes (including 50 Cent, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and the Temptations) to fuel parties at their Future Factory space. These remixes became incredibly popular and soon offical remixes followed which eventually led to Autograf releasing original material.
Louis and Mikul were still groggy and disoriented when I woke them up the second time, but we had a great chat. How did an art collective become a dance act? What does the band mean when they tell each other to “bask like a lizard?” We start with the most important question: If Autograf is three guys, and Louis and Mikul get the two beds in the Autograf hotel room, where does the third man sleep? Listen to our chat.

Vancouver rapper Immerze is back with another #OFF aka Oreo Flow Fridays this time taking on 50 Cent’s 2005 smooth instrumental “Ryder Music” from The Massacre album. Expect another one from him this Friday, stream below!
Van/Ten A Key’s Robin Carnage takes on The Game’s second single “How We Do” featuring 50 Cent from his debut album The Documentary. The original was quite the success being produced by Dr. Dre and Robin gives it his nice touch adding a very thick and emotional flare to the 2004 classic. Stream or download above!

Robin Daily is a Vancouver native but took Music Business & Production Emphasis in Nashville, Ten A Key. He made it quite clear with his first project that his sound was experimental and darker than the rest of the “Trap” that has been coming out in the past year. I personally wouldn’t completely call him “Trap” but a experimental darker southern style of it. Four months ago he released his first project “optx” which had 2 great original pieces and 3 remixes including a very interesting take on Led Zeppelin’s “No Quarter” & TI & Bun B’s “Front Back“. Today we got his next project titled “Baalaclava”, it features Lil Boosie, Missy Elliot, Plies, Young Buck & 50 Cent. The thing about this EP is all the original work with still keeping that dark & eery original touch that he’s known for. Peep the new project below and make sure to hit his Facebook up.
