About

Winniecooper.net is a Vancouver based music and events e-zine founded in 2008.
Since it’s inception, Winniecooper has been visited by over one and a half million visitors from around the world.
Winniecooper.net puts on around 50 local shows/events a year.
Winnie has had the pleasure of hosting emerging artists such as The Local Natives, Das Racist, Big Freedia, Austra, Diamond Rings, Gobble Gobble, Grimes, Braids and more (that probably you haven’t heard of yet) to play in Vancouver for the first time.
Winnie has also been the first site to feature internationally renown locals such as Oh No! Yoko, Teen Daze, Humans, Makeout Videotape, Babe Rainbow, Young Liars and Shimmering Stars putting on some of their first ever live shows.
We are devoted to the artists we love. Here we talk openly about our secret crushes. We share art with our readers: music, film/television & photography, but mostly music.

Scott Wood
Scott Wood started out as a simple nerdy guy who likes music. so one day, he thought, “so why not interview bands and embark on the dubious career path of music journalism?” from there, the interview show has exploded onto multiple radio stations in Canada as well as all over the blogosphere on winniecooper.net. Scott Wood and the interview show may not be everyone’s favorite radio show and podcast, but sometimes strange women scream out his name at shows. and that makes it all worth it.
