Los Angeles based duo Poolside have been producing the “Daytime Disco” vibes since early 2010. Consisting of Filip Nikolic and Jeffrey Paradis, Poolside take their name seriously, with Pitchfork describing their first album, “Pacific Standard Time”, as having a “tempo and temperament that call to mind images of a palatial California, where the water is as clear as the sun is bright and the slow drip of time is inconsequential.”
Following the release of “Pacific Standard Time” last year, Poolside have found fans in LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, (who continues to make their cover of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” a staple of his DJ sets), and are now the golden boys of California disco.
Next month, the boys of Poolside will be stopping by the Electric Owl in Vancouver with Jay Arner and it’s sure to make you forget that summer is officially over. It all goes down on Friday, September 6th and tickets are now available via Ticketweb, and in person at Red Cat and Zulu Records. For more information visit the Facebook event page.
