Chairlift – I Belong in Your Arms

It’s been a few years since Chairlift graced our television screens in that acid inspired Nano chrome commercial and the wait has done them some good.
Although I have a great distain for anything sentimental, I’m in full blown teenage lust with “I Belong in Your Arms”, the third cut off Chairlift’s sophomore album “Something”. It reminds me of a time when a dude standing outside your window with a boom box was the ultimate gesture and every girl just wanted to be pretty in pink.

This Brooklyn pop duo, which consists of Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly, have an infectious chemistry that warms your heart and makes texting obnoxious emoticons a viable option. From the echoing synths to her whimsically dreamy vocals, its 80′s pop perfection. And while I think Valentine’s Day is the work of Hallmark and the devil, this track is a must for all those mixtapes I’m sure ya’ll are making.
