British indie-electronic band Broadcast, has been around since the mid 90’s but this is actually a recent discovery for me. I felt the need to share immediately since it moved me so much from the get go. Their music isn’t as dark and aggravated as I normally gravitate towards but touches an emotional side that’s so pure and haunting. Their sounds are not exactly your typical electronic band with a strong influence from the 60’s psychedelic era. Lead singer Trish Keenan’s vocals have a quality that sounds many years before her time. Sadly on January 14th 2011, Keenan passed away due to complications with pneumonia. According to bassist James Cargill there will be new Broadcast material coming out soon with Keenan’s vocals that were recorded before her death. R.I.P.
