Winnie Backs The Juice Man

In Vancouver, civic elections are right around the corner. We encourage you to do your research and VOTE on Saturday.

You may think that since you are young and don’t pay many, or any taxes that this doesn’t affect you. YOU ARE WRONG. Some candidates have it outlined in their policy that there focus is “on taxpayers” ie: not you, so this very much affects you.

Winnie is backing the Juice Man / Gregor Robertson who is up for re-election with his Vision Vancouver team.  He has a continued focus on the arts community and making Vancouver “the greenest city.”

In his three year term we saw widespread expansion of bike lanes in the city, much to the chagrin of motorists (who still don’t get it). Efforts were made to address our city’s “No Fun City” reputation which saw the city transformed into a very fun place during the Olympics. Talks were also held to address the operation of D.I.Y underground cultural spaces that are necessary to foster creativity at all levels. To see this attention paid to the often overshadowed arts community was very impressive.  Gregor has faced criticism for focusing on these “seemingly small” outside of the big picture issues. I firmly believe that the arts are central to a healthy society and it seems like they get it.

Team Vision also continues on planning to expand the city’s transit.  The city saw it’s first year to year drop in homelessness in over a decade.  All of this we firmly believe are good things.

Some of the other candidates have stated that this focus on the Green economy is foolish with it only representing 2% of the overall economy, and some see the hasty implementation of bikes lanes as wrong.  We will have zero economy if we don’t work hard to protect the environment, so that alone is enough for me personally to write off their politics.  I have personally seen Gregor at a musical / cultural event that Winnie / I have been a part of.  He is an avid cyclist that bikes to work.

Personally, I would never want to run for mayor, it is a thankless job. Gregor has been able to attain success through his company Happy Planet (who make those amazing hangover cure shot things that I want to get sponsored by) already.  He honestly looks like Ken Doll too. I have no idea? why he would then want to run for mayor other than it being for the right reasons.

Seriously though, look at the other candidates.  A bunch of them missed the “send us a photo memo” and one guy has his eyes closed.  THIS IS NOT A JOKE this is the future.

Full info on the election at the city’s election website.

Please feel free to openly debate anything put out here and get involved. It’s your future at stake.

MY WORLD

So the deal with IGGY is she’s a rapper & songwriter from Australia. (birth name: Amethyst) Who later moved to the states to pursue her music career. Clearly it’s working out cause she’s managed by Interscope and both her music video’s have gone viral on YouTube. Her debut album will be released in 2012. This girl is no Kreayshawn much more glamorous and I like it.
