YVR :: Moar Siavash

Last Friday we posted a SBTRKT remix by Vancouver producer/Dj Siavash hours after he had finished it having stayed up all night working on it.  Within 24 hours it went to number 10 on the hype machine instantly making him blog rich / famous and literally led to him getting laid.

#internetdreams

Here’s another Siavash remix hot of the press, this time of Australian band Gotye’s track, “Somebody That I Used To Know”.

Mercy Mercy Me

edit murphy

Edit Murphy dropped this in my inbox about a week ago. These are some nice deejay friendly edits of classic r&b soul motown tracks that I was hoping to keep to myself. But, I don’t wanna be selfish (unless we’re talking about tacos cuz then I’m totally not sharing).

Without Kimmi

usher x twin sister

Love them or not, The Hood Internet dudes are good at what they do.

90% of the “mash-ups” littering the internet are totally off key, awful, and something your parents wouldn’t mind listening to.

This isn’t like that though… the music sounds like it was composed for Usher’s voice.

The Hood Internet – Without Kimmi (Usher x Twin Sister) by hoodinternet

In related news, if you use the term “mash-up” without air quotes then nobody will take you seriously.

MY BOO

Ghost Town DJs – My Boo (Balam Acab Remix)

One of my FAVE classics remixed by 20 yr old Pennsylvania native Alec Koone aka BALAM ACAB. Who is mostly known for his witch haus sounds. I should mention he got a 8.2 review on PITCHFORK for his latest album “WANDER / WONDER”. He’s about to go on tour in the U.S., sadly no Canadian dates yet.

Syndromes

“A young girl with mysterious talents finds herself unwillingly entwined in an elite underworld that only the ailing wealthy are ever aware of, in this short film for the release of the new album by The Golden Filter called Syndromes.”
