New Das Racist Lp – Relax

Our boy @blood_diamond5 is behind this new Das Racist single. Apparently they hit him up on twitter and was like, “Can we rap on this beat, Girl..?”. The rest is HIStory. Apparently it’s the lead single.

And another new one.

Stream the whole new album here and check out an interview with Nardwuar.

9 Day Countdown to Tribe of Zebras in Vancouver!

Only 9 more sleeps till Winnie Cooper and Tales from a Barstool present Tribe of Zebra’s at the Electric Owl!

Burlesque Sass Queen Lola Frost will be performing as well, because the ladies from Tale from a Barstool keep pulling different awesome little magic rabbits from their lady hats. They’ve also partnered with  Blo – Blow Dry Bar who is offering 15% off at any of their bars to ticket holders the night of the event. Since i’d probably dunk my head in a central Alberta well to avoid the bother of washing my hair, this seems like a pretty good deal.

All the lil teens in their back to school kilts are sweating today in Vancouver. It’s hawt, so here’s a summer mix from Tribe of Zebras. Summer has to keep going because I spent a lot of money on tank tops this year instead of buying a coat or socks.

Tribe of Zebras – Summer Mix

Also, check out the Tribe of Z’s latest, a remix of White Arrows, this is music to play while going to a beach in space.

Hud Mo

HudMoPleasurePrinciple

According to the website:

“Pleasure is the all new soundtrack to the party of your dreams with Janet Jackson, Keri Hilson, Jodeci, Aaliyah and Gucci Mane all getting the Hud Mo treatment.”

Hud Mo – Pleasure by Hudson Mohawke

Ummmmm YEAH! I think I like the Jodeci one the best.

Apparently these tracks are only available on ultra-limited vinyl. More info here: http://itsthepleasureprinciple.net/

Why Not

So get this. I was searching through my iTunes library and re-realised that I was a total fucking nerd. Get lost with me for a sec — take this.

Main Theme – Super Mario Bros.

If you’re not into it, fine… just ignore this post and don’t give me a hard time about it. Oh, and by the way, if any of you are interested in the entire Legend of Zelda (audio) catalogue let me know.

You Like Dreampop…?

Very hard to find anything on these guys. Hailing from Los Angeles, The Distnce (no, that’s not a typo) is a project driven by Charlie Gunter and James Lucas. These guys are just dipping their feet in the water, but I’m quite sure things are about to move pretty quickly for them. Have a listen to their single, “Dry Land“, and you’ll see what I mean.

Raindeer – Moonstruck EP

I always love hearing about new shit coming out of Baltimore; I have yet to be disappointed. Pasta Primavera puts it best: “just when sweet shoegaze is flourishing, powerful folk emerges, then experimental electronics, hip-hop, crazy hardcore, or an amalgam of everything blasts through”. This is Raindeer: a couple of new kids making sweet music — straight up.
