† Babe Alert †

CRAFT SPELLS

This Friday at The Waldorf Hotel!

cs

Not only are Craft Spells majorly swoon worthy but they’re totally legit too. It took me about 4 seconds into their song ‘After The Moment’ too fall in love with them. Their sound is so reminiscent of the 80′s post punk/new wave scene. This band is definitely beyond their time.

Also on the bill that night is Mode Moderne. Probably a lot of people’s favorite Vancouver band. If your unfamiliar for some reason, think of Joy Division but more gothy †.

Also up and coming Ville Kulla’s first show! Very Beach House-esque.

To end the night Winnie djs Tristan Orchard & Wobangs will be breaking hearts on the dance floor. See all you babes there. ;)

Winnie Goes to Bumbershoot!

Last time I was given a Press Pass I ended up washing my feet in Vampire Weekend’s porta-potty sink and was pulled over by a cop on the way home for going 25km/hour on the upper levels highway and crying.

So this could go either way.

T-minus 2.5 weeks until Seattle’s Bumbershoot. The only Festival hosting the Presidents of the United States of America and Hall and Oats on the same stage. “Peaches” and You “Make My Dreams Come True,” Together. As it was always meant to be.

Festival is September 3rd to 5th; tickets still available, $90 for a three-day pass, $35 for a single day.

Other acts include Tennis, P.S I Love You, YACHT, Das Racist and Big Boi. Click here for full line up.

Hall and Oats – I can’t go for that (Fromage Yacht Rock Edit)

Adam + The Amythysts

I was hoping this track was going to rock when I pressed the play button.

Luckily I was right. You want cute? You got it. Adam and the Amethysts are a Montreal, Indie Rock, band formed in 2004 fronted by Adam Waito… a former member of Miracle Fortress. Did I mention they were cute? Yea, deal with it. Download their track, Prophecy, from their album Flickering Flashlight for free.

Cloud Nothings

Cleveland Ohio is the 33rd largest city in the United States; whatever. You’ll find The Playhouse Square Centre, corned beef, and (among many other wicked groups) the Cloud Nothings. Played by by 19-year-old Dylan Baldi, the group portrays an adolescent sound with addictive harmonies, and a comfortable feel. This is high quality indie pop (with a splash of surf punk) to say the least. Enjoy their free track, Understand At All, released on Carparck Records.

Waiting For Something To Feel Right…?

Trissy boy is going like this one.

It’s Sunday guys, kudos for getting through the week like a bunch of total champs. You deserve to be introduced to NY Producer (and artist), Gavin Russom. He’s been releasing tracks under different monikers for some time now (Black Leotard Front, Black Meteoric Star, The Crystal Ark). Russom is a “tech wizard”: he builds custom analog synthesizers for himself and other people to use in their own music… which is a big reason why I ♥ him so much. “Night Sky” is one of his new singles out now on DFA Records.

You’re Going To Want To Peeps This

Not sure how this almost slipped by me. “MTI“, coupled with “4D“, is Koreless’ latest release; about 5 months old. Hailing from Glasgow Scotland, Koreless is basically some stupid talented kid who’s been releasing tracks for a while… he be one o’ them producer types ye’know?

Anyways, enjoy this track he released not too long ago. You’ll definitely feel this one; I know Trissy and Flores will.
