good to see Vancouver hip-hop has caught up with 1993…
actually scratch that, i dont want to be rude. i just find the vancouver “scene” (if you can even call it that) frustrating at best. were either imitating LA groups like jurassic 5 or freestyle fellowship, generic lazy radio friendly production that was played out 10 years ago or pretending to be ill bill/necro with teenage raps. lets be honest, there hasnt been an original or unique sound in vancouver hip-hop since The Rascalz (early Swollen maybe). This sentiment is echoed all the time but no one ever talks about it. Maybe if we all stopped pretending like this dead corpse was still breathing we could start over and do something new and exciting. Anyways, what the fuck do I know…
