Music Waste at 360 Glen

Music Waste 2011. Ah yes, the one time of year where Vancouver music, art and comedy come together to dine. This year, the “all-you-can-eat” fest took it’s tasty offerings to venues / record shops all over the east side including 360 Glen, Lanalou’s, the new Electric Owl, the Prophouse Cafe and Lion’s Den.

I’m still digesting all the music I experienced but the highlights – Needles // Pins at Anti-Social, the two late night shows at 360 Glen and for the second year in a row, the epic V.Vecker Ensemble finale on the first of Music Waste at the Anza. Photoset on the FLICKR.

Basketball x Getgrounded.tv

Basketball are a Vancouver treasure. They have a Middle Eastern folk sound that is fused with Detroit techno. I think it’s safe to say a) they put on some of the craziest shows in town and b) there is no other band like them that I have heard.
