Del Shannon – Runaway Dubstep

From wiki:
He flew to New York City, but his first sessions did not produce results. McLaughlin persuaded Shannon and Crook to rewrite and re-record one of their earlier songs, originally called “Little Runaway”, using the Musitron as lead instrument. On January 21, 1961, they recorded “Runaway”, released as a single in February 1961. It reached #1 in the Billboard chart in April.

the interview show: Leif Vollebekk

When I walked up to the Biltmore to interview Leif Vollebekk, I found him closing the van and introduced myself. Turns out I was actually talking to Rolf from Acorn (the band Leif was on tour with). Leif and Rolf look uncannily alike and could easily be confused for siblings. So I guess it is luck the Acorn chose Leif to go on tour with them. Leif later told me that he was manning the merch table in Seattle and this drunk fan made the same mistake. He sold her an Acorn CD, told her that “Acorn loved her” and did everything short of signing the CD.
A lot of people think Leif sounds like Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley and it is easy to see why. I don’t think he compares to those heavy weights yet, but he is starting in a great place and he is a really sweet guy too.

New Hip Hop: Death Grip
My buddy Jon showed me this guy few days ago and I was blown away just trying to understand what i was watching. The best quote i read was: “Kimbo Slice went back to smoking crack, lost all his muscle mass and decided to become a rapper.
Regardless, dude is raw and that’s the best part: no budget, no flash, no bullshit, just an angry dude going h.a.m riding shotgun in a Corolla. After a little searching, it turns out this is maybe one the many side-projects of Zach Hill (drumming god from the band, Hella) though the specifics are sketchy. (editors note, confirmed)
