Black N Yellow

Wiz Khalifa drops into Vancouver October 14 to do TWO SHOWS on the same day along with special guest Yelawolf. Yeah these dudes grind hard.
The late show has been sold out for a while but tickets are still available for the early show.
Me likes this latest one:
Trans Newark Express (DJ Tameil)
Discorder published this interview with Baltimore club / New Jersey club bigwig DJ Tameil (it’s ya man!).
Bonus vid: CDJ cue button mashing and chopping at a high school dance. The security gal gets groovy!

Discorder: So I read you were Redman’s neighbour?
DJ Tameil: Yeah, we’re sorta like cousins but not cousins, you know. It was because we grew up together. His mother is like my grandmother’s sister, you know. It’s just like a big family thing, even though we’re not family. [He] pretty much taught me how to DJ before time, you know I was about seven years old, and it was the first time that I was ever actually on the stage in front of a crowd, at my uncle’s wedding, and I played EU’s “Doin da Butt.” … Once I got the crowd response from that, it was just like, in my mind, “Wow! You know I could actually be a DJ!”
D: You used to use tapes, you used to break the doors off cassette players right?
T: Oh yes, I could tell you a long story about that. I actually have somebody that’s outdone me, but yeah, I used to break the tape doors off the radios and just slow the tapes down with my fingers so that I could get a good mix, and I would record the mix with another radio … It was just so much, man! I would end up with like three different radios just so I could get everything right. One to cue the records up, one to play and one to record. … You gotta do what you gotta do!

Oh No! Yoko+Teen Daze+Young Liars=PICZ
Hey folks, I busted my neck so the photos are a tad latez. Sooooo lemme remind you of how much fun we had 2 weeks ago! The small but mighty band, Oh No! Yoko kicked the night off followed by Teen Daze who, after getting a great review on pitchfork, just got a new bass player and recently left for their mini tour around western Canada. And last but definitely not least to light up the stage, is Young Liars, with their psychedelic light show and light up mirror masks, seeing this band live is not for the faint of heart, or epileptics.

the interview show: Chromeo

I was one of the few media dudes to get a chance to talk to Chromeo while they warmed up in Toronto. It was a bit of a gong show, with bad cell reception and the main guy from Holy Ghost! soundchecking in the same room. I do manage to get some great quotes from P-Thugg and he even gives a little bit of advice to one of our listeners (and a devoted Chromeo fan)!!!
Also check out around the 22-minute mark for a special guest spot by local actor, Bruce Silverson! Even more nerdy goodness than usual!
Chromeo “Don’t Turn the Lights On” (Aeroplane Remix) P-Thugg‘s fav remix from the current release, Business Casual.
Chromeo “Needy Girl” (Lifelike remix) An oldie, but a goodie.
Chromeo “I Could Be Wrong” (ft. Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend)
