NMS Fri…

This week at NMS we have The Stolen Organ Band. The group have shared the stage with Mother Mother, Yo La Tengo and Hot Panda to name a few. They have a very unique brand of pixies-esque “psychedelic folk” perhaps I would call it…??
The Stolen Organ Family Band – I Don’t Care About Anything
Also playing are nms faves Koban and a newish band were really excited about, Bummer High.

Sum Real Ass Touring Shit
The Slammers are back from touring. I hope they spread our northwestern seed!
Let’s welcome them back. They play Glory Days on Sat! C U thrr!?
Part 2?
In The Summer

I always liked Telepathe. There’s a certain rawness to their music that makes it sound more punk even though it’s electronic based.
Here’s their remix of the new Crystal Fighters song.

Annnd here’s a picture of Crystal Fighters being all aloof/emo/smarmy/aggro.

Drinks & Fantasies

Since U-Tern is touring Europe and Ch3rk is out east, Winnie deejay Flowers is suuuupes excited because he gets to guest DJ at Cocktails & Dreams this Thursday! It’s a new weekly night in Vancouver with the most chill, best chair-dancing yacht rock and boogie classics tunes evs.
The always awesome Niña Mendoza is bringing the jams too, so come down to Cinema with ur pals to see who can be the chillest and check out Flores’ brand new white shoes perfect for boating.
PICS FROM THE REEKEND

Pictures are up from Friday’s NMS with, Kick Evrything & RatTail at the Cobalt and the Goodie BBQ the next night.
the interview show: Plants and Animals

These guys look like they have been properly medicated. Their latest record La La Land definitely goes down smoothly. It was inspired by their constant touring of US, giving us songs lke “American Idol” and “Tom Cruz.” I chat with P&A’s Matthew Woodley about the night the spirit of Tom Cruise came to visit the band. What did he say?
Plants and Animals on the interview show
Plants and Animals “Kon Tiki” My favourite song on La La Land. It was inspired by a day of touring wineries and then trying to find a hotel at the beach. Hmmmm… This inspires me to make a similar trip. Who wants to join?
The Hood Internet (Amanda Blank vs Vega) “No Reason To Like You Better” This track is two of my favorite bands mashed together by one of Chicago’s up and coming producers. It should tide you over, the interview is coming up in a couple of weeks.
the interview show is everywhere! (interviewshow[at]gmail.com)
