Darlings
I’ve been meaning to post some Darlings. I saw them in New York after getting a “hot tip” from Dinosaur Feathers who i’d just booked ((who play NMS aug 13th)). They were so rad. The party was put on by their record label, Famous Class and was in this rad spot, Death By Audio an art gallery type thing.
Maybe it had something to do with the newly acquired marijuana, the spring time, being in a foreign country or newly found love for New York but i was definitely in heaven.
I want them to come to Vanny and play NMS sooooooo bad.

Now at its fancy new weekly Friday spot at The Cobalt (+one offs around town), we along with Beatroute Magazine have been putting together a very slick line up of upcoming bands for August. Im going to go so far as saying our best month ever / most exciting by far.

Dinosaur Feathers from Brooklyn (my fave place on earth other than Vancouver right now). I had sent out Listening Party’s new album to some blogs which led to Dinosaur Feathers getting in touch with Listening Party wanting to do some shows together and now were doing this. <3u internet. They recently played Sasquatch (not to name drop)

A few months ago, Winnie was involved in an ipod battle at Fortune. While it was our first ipod battle we represented. Unfortunately we were beat out by Man Hussy. They call themselves a comedy troupe but I think they more closely resemble a group of deviants. People who distort reality as they please and pay no respect to morality.
I did some research on them and came up with these videos of them performing sick tricks… THESE PEOPLE REALLY MUST BE STOPPED!

the interview show vs the hood internet
The Hood Internet are two guys in Chicago STV SLV (left) and ABX (right), who take two distinct songs and mix them together. The results are sometimes funny and sometimes awesome.
The first time I met STV SLV (Steve Sleeve) in Vancouver, he had gotten lost somewhere between the restuarant and the venue. He was a little happy and would not stop gushing about the luxury of lax marijuana laws in our town.
He was a little more composed when we talked on the phone.
I love these guys because their tracks let us see what it would be like to see some unimaginable fan boy team ups. Damn: Caribou and Slug?!?!
