Chicken & Beer Canada Day

If you’re in Vancouver, this Wednesday at The Lamplighter there’s a major Black Label party to celebrate Canada Day.
Winnie deejay Flowers will be playing songs so that it will feel like you’re at your BFF’s parents’ house party when you were 15 (except without the zits and awkwardness).
We’re also having a lil’ chicken and beer party too because Wednesday is cheap wings and draft beer night!
Come early to check out the patio with deejays Mike Dobbs and Dana D. Then the chicken and beer house party starts at 10 with your BFF’s Christian Flores and Zeeaa playing lotsa those oldie/indie/pop/rock/rap songs you won’t admit you love unless you’re all 3D.
New Young Pony Club – We Want 2
Rick Springfield – Jessie’s Girl
Monday No Fun Day

Since it’s Monday and my brain processes everything at one eighth speed, I’ll spare you any further useless drivel and share this song with you to start the week.
the interview show: Digits

What is Alt Altman aka Digits expecting in the mail?
Indie electronic acts were once a rare breed in our frosty north. First Junior Boys, then Caribou paved the way for indie dance, and Alt Altman assures me that Digits is only one of the many new faces ready to change the scene. Just please don’t ask him to talk in a fake British accent.
Like dance rogues LCD Soundsystem, Digits tackle strange topics in their songs. My fav “You’re Going to Age” is all about getting old.
Digits “You’re Going to Age” (Schaatz remix) Cool remix of an already cool track.
LCD Soundsystem “You Wanted A Hit” (Soulwax remix) We both love how James Murphy manages to skewer himself and his scene in all his songs.
Caribou “Odessa” (Junior Boys remix) During the interview, Alt Altman imagines being in Dan Snaith‘s band.
