Run This Town

NYC

Some heavy hitters join forces for this track off the much anticipated Blueprint 3, due out September 11.

Actually, it’s exactly what I would expect if these three got together to make a song.

You said it, “what I would expect if these three got together.” In the NO I.D. interview about the making of “D.O.A.” he said the convo started because some dude said Jay-Z should make a “Soulja Boy” record for the kids… then Kanye said nope you should do something that disses everything that’s going on right now. So “Run This Town” is passable, it’s not bad but not CRAAAZY, and for the kids I think.

i’m surprised kanye wants to do anything with Jayz after he made that death of autotune song

It’s interesting though that D.O.A. was Kanye’s idea, according to Jigga. Almost a deliberate attempt to creatively take a different direction with the Jay-Z project. I just like that Hova sticks to some good ol’ rap music and generally leaves the fluff for everyone else to make.

The guitar riff in Run This Town is taken from here: http://famousblueraincoats.blogspot.com/2009/08/4-levels-of-existence.html
