YVR

Our second edition of YVR, our highlight on Vancouver’s local scene is here.
This Saturday, Winnie Cooper presents, Garland & Yarn at NO MORE STRANGERS!!!!
A.K.A, Sasha Langford. Her music has this wonderful lo-fi handcrafted nature to it and her voice this beautiful, unique, Johanna Newsom aspect that gives me the shivers.
She has her debut album that is available for purchase through her myspace oooor at the show.
See you there?

David Shrigley
“Last time I did a Talk in London, I think it was at the ICA, some guy sent me an email the next day to say my Talk was shit, and could he have his money back? And it was really quite galling because I didn’t even get paid.”
The Tate in London has released over 400 video and audio lectures, talks and debates for free on iTunes. David Shrigley, who is best known for his devilishly funny child-like drawings, does a good one in 2008.
Friday. Triangles.

Fever Ray – Triangle Walks (Tiga’s 1-2-3-4 Remix)
Oh man.
Tiga‘s been on fire lately. This track builds nicely, vocals come in, teases you with some kicks and effects, then about halfway some heaviness drops.
Bobbing your head, tapping your foot, shaking your hair… the vocals come back in to bring it home. Then, almost unexpectedly, it’s over…
This is the jam for Friday.
