Babe Rainbow

What’s better than the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow…?-A Babe Rainbow.
Babe Rainbow is a new project by Cameron Reed who puts together the Victory Square Block Party and The Music Waste Festival here in Vancouver.
Here’s some sparse atmospheric stuff from him.
Fine Mist – In The Mountains (Babe Rainbow Remix)
Yo Say Party! We Say Die! – Like I Give A Care (Babe Rainbow Remix)

That’s also the cover of the House of Love (britpop) album of the same name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babe_Rainbow
I think it was hanging in the studio where they were recording.

“Commissioned by Dodo Designs, Babe Rainbow was originally to have been an enamel plaque. As this proved to be impossible, the design was silkscreened onto tin, in an edition of 10,000. Selling at only £1 each it was one of the few genuine multiples available to everyone.
The design was based on a 1967 cover of the French magazine Marie Claire – the girl’s facial features in Babe Rainbow are similar to those on the magazine cover, but have been adjusted by referring to other prototypes. Blake wrote:
‘A fictitious lady wrestler, she is twenty three years old and has broken her nose in the ring. She was born in New Cross, London and wrestles mainly in Europe and the USA’.”

had a store in san francisco in the 60’s ordered 50 at a time from Dodo designs. Sold like crazy.
Just found one tucked away in a box. Great memories. She now hangs in my family room.
