It’s the Beat!
When I first heard of these guys it was a killer collaboration; Justice vs. Simian. A match made in heaven, like peaches and cream or Ying and Yang. Justice of course being the Yang with their balls-to-the-wall, metal-infused, slap to the face live act, and Simian as the more dance-inspired, melodic Yang….and boy was the Yang out last night; minus their tops, or boyfriends

Just in time for the launch of a new, up-coming album, the two James, now called Simian Mobile Disco, had the entire Commodore Ballroom creaming their pants – with or without the pharmaceuticals. Although their act didn’t really involve them “playing” anything – who gives a shit! These two mangled-tooth Brits don’t hide behind their technology, and actually know how to play to a crowd; proof that electronic duos are not just a bunch of fugly, introverted, manic-masturbating geeks, but showmen (or women) as well. When it comes to SMD, it’s not just the beat, it’s also the party.
