For some weird reason I never can seriously listen songs that aren’t in English. Is that offensive? Like Pourriture 2 or something that just has a few lines i’m totally down with but full verses ? can’t do it.
Sure it’s a preference I guess… but then you’re limiting yourself.
When I listen to ‘world’ music, I love to hear the similarities and differences between cultures about what elements of a song make it interesting. Music is just sounds, so it’s a universal thing…
This is the same Les Handclaps as the French Canadian band (my band)… We sing in French, English, German, and Spanish. I agree that words are just sounds… if not, Sigur Ross never would have made an impact with their made-up language! :-) It’s just fun!! Thanks for posting comments…
