Christmas Wrapping
Here’s one of my fave holiday classics. It’s been covered endlessly, but you can’t beat the 1981 original by The Waitresses. The 80s post-punk band recorded the track when rap started gaining momentum. Fronted by Patty Donahue, her ‘talk-sing’ style borrowed heavily from hip hop and, if you listen carefully, she tells a charming little story.
