Be on the lookout for Diplo & Switch’s latest collaboration, Major Lazer. The Duo were responsible for M.I.A.’s latest offering, “Kala” and Santogold’s self titled long player.
Any one familiar with the Diplo & Santogold mixtape, “Top Rated” might of noticed that Wesley (Diplo) is on quite the Reggae tip lately, the album will follow that trend being a Reggae & Dance Hall album.
They have a myspace for the side project with a couple of snipets up. They recently debuted the album at the Notting Hill Carnival in the UK this last weekend.
Check out this interview Wesley did for Urb magazine where he sheds light on a lot of recent trends, and mentions that next up he’s producing an “indie rock” album for a group of “real young kids” recently signed to “XL”……
1+2+3 = the Bombay Bicycle Club??? (the hottest ish right now, besides the mgmt soulwax remix of course…)
Diplo feat. Dead Prez - Dip Hop

Bombay Bicycle Gang - Cancel on Me
Soulwax Fire

Belgium’s Soulwax have been setting the internet ablaze as of recent.
They’ve done a stelar remix for the launch of the Chemical Brothers best of disc, revisiting their 1999 track “Hey Boy Hey Girl” which they have released for free at the Chems’ myspace.
The Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy, Hey Girl (Soulwax Remix)
Next up for the guys, youtube clips from Soulwax and Erol Alkan dj sets have been making the rounds with particular attention being paid to a yet unreleased Soulwax MGMT “Kids” remix.
Im the last person to ask for yet another MGMT remix, but my gosh this one is a banger. Definitely the best MGMT remix so far. Check out a set rip of the track below and join the hype bandwagon eagerly awaiting it’s release.
MGMT – Kids (Soulwax Nite version)

the interview show: glass candy
Ida No, one half of italo-disco act Glass Candy, was exhausted mentally, emotionally and spiritually after Glass Candy’s show, yet she was still gracious enough to chat with us in the dingy backroom at Richard’s On Richards. Collapsed on some steps, she sipped from a 4-litre jug of water to re-hydrate as the crew tore down the stage.
Most bands never want to do interviews after a show. Typically, they want to chat at soundcheck or sometime before the performance. When the show is over, bands want to party and hang out with their pals. Rumored to be very shy, Ida No likes to leave the time before a show to meditate, to prepare herself for the audience.
Although she was ready to sleep the entire ride home to Oregon, I still managed to get Ida to talk about metaphysics, the pet rabbit that brought Glass Candy together—and I even got her to rap a verse from Lil’ Troy’s “Wanna Be A Baller”!

Vampire Weekend Remix Album…

This is coming second hand from a tip, apparently there is a Vampire Weekend remix album in the works by none other than my bejeweled princes of funk, Chromeo.
Vampire Weekend did a live interview on Much Music while at the Rogers Picnic in July when this tidbit was leaked. I have not been able to find anything on the net to confirm that Chromeo are indeed remixing the entire VW album though. I have been able to confirm that there is at least one VW remix in the works by Chromeo.
The two groups have bff status having both attended Columbia University, where Dave 1 is currently studying towards a Ph.D in French Literature.
Anyways, I hope it’s true… Heres some Vampire Weekend remixes to tie you over for the mean time.
*** The remix “album” has been confirmed as untrue, however the single Chromeo remix is apparently shortly up. Stay tuned.
Vampire Weekend - Walcott (Insane Mix)
Vampire Weekend – Oxford Comma (Burntpiano Edit)
Ursalicious
Missy Elliott. Who in my fantasy is openly gay.
She made some big hits with people like Tweet and Nicole Wray. These honey$ never got famous (like famous-famous). So… well I think Missy got a harem with sweet R&B-singers and sometimes she just picks one out (and they can walk around freely for 1 month, make the hit and….. back inside the Respect M.E. Castle – written in gold, neon and diamonds)…… after that it’s back to sweet love-making in a heartshaped bed with ruffles
………… You Can’t Beat Missy – I think she is the shit with the beatbeatbeat and I am playing her non-stop these days.
Missy Elliott ft. Tweet – Oops
Missy Elliott ft. Nicole Wray & Mocha – Make It Hot
There is no good/bad reason to post this song:
504 Boys – I Can Tell You Wana
“Ill do my exercises, right between your thighes”
Love you.. let’s go to Holiday On Ice together…
