On The Radar

Be on the lookout for Diplo & Switch’s latest collaboration, Major Lazer. The Duo were responsible for M.I.A.’s latest offering, “Kala” and Santogold’s self titled long player.

Any one familiar with the Diplo & Santogold mixtape, “Top Rated” might of noticed that Wesley (Diplo) is on quite the Reggae tip lately, the album will follow that trend being a Reggae & Dance Hall album.

They have a myspace for the side project with a couple of snipets up. They recently debuted the album at the Notting Hill Carnival in the UK this last weekend.

Check out this interview Wesley did for Urb magazine where he sheds light on a lot of recent trends, and mentions that next up he’s producing an “indie rock” album for a group of “real young kids” recently signed to “XL”……

1+2+3 = the Bombay Bicycle Club??? (the hottest ish right now, besides the mgmt soulwax remix of course…)

Diplo feat. Dead Prez - Dip Hop

(do not even think of complaining about this being 96kbs.  Go and buy it. Do we look like fucking magicians that magic these songs out of thin air?)

Evil Nine - Pearl Shot (Switch Remix)

Bombay Bicycle Gang - Cancel on Me

I prefer reggae over baile funk anyday. So this should be interesting.

We have a decent Brazilian community in Miami but I don’t see the popularity of the music style here like it is in Brazil.

I remember playing in a band when I was younger and my friends Mom didn’t like the “devil” music we played down in the basement and suggested that we should play reggae, because everybody likes reggae. I think she had a point.

Apparently Sinead O’Connor doesn’t like Reggae but that’s because she is strictly Roots

I’ve had no luck finding a source for the track. I think checking in with Mad Decent or myspace ing Diplo might be the best bet!?
