When I go to Lagos…

lagos

I had this heated debate with Lex over Calvin Harris and what he’s good for. I mean, I didn’t exactly hate Respectable in the 80’s… but I also realized that I didn’t exactly like Respectable in the 80’s. It’s kinda like socks. Most of the time, you just wear the first pair you grab, it don’t matter. Anyhow, I came to the conclusion that Mr. Merry Maker’s production may kinda sort of slightly be interesting? Annnnnd that’s about it.

Okay, so it wasn’t really a heated debate… more like a glossed over, split second, uninspired symposium.

I guess the point I was trying to get across was that Harris should stick to production. I think he does some good remix work (see Ting Tings remix) and me likes the beats on the Dizzee track. It’s catchy. I could care less about Calvin’s adorable little rap-sing, but whatever. Ja Rule rap-sings. Here’s another example to support my argument… Afrikan Boy with some raps over Vegas. I think this is fire!

Afrikan Boy - L.A.G.O.S.

K I’ma go get a haircut now… later friends.
