Richard Prince
Richard Prince has been killing it lately. His 2007 career retrospective at NY Guggenheim cemented his rep as a giant in the art world (check out the excellent online exhibition); he just collaborated with Marc Jacobs on a line of Louis Vuitton handbags, and is now selling 4 x 6 ft. prints like “Untitled (cowboy), 1989″ (above) for $10 million USD at his current show at Serpentine Gallery in London. His work is so in demand that he had to dip into his personal collection to supply pieces for the exhibit.
In this great video from Vice TV he talks about buying first editions of old paperback books, signing them, and selling them as artwork.
